Atmosphere & Service
This was NOT our first visit to Vickery Village but our first-time to Cinco Mexican Cantina. We arrived Sunday afternoon around 6:30pm for dinner and were immediately greeted by a friendly host who ushered us to the roof top bar. Making our way through the restaurant, we observed the beautiful décor and soft ambient lightning accentuated by the beautiful star pendant lights hanging from the ceiling. It was very reminiscent of a small-town Mexican cantina but spacious.
The upstairs bar was tended by Ms. A, who provided the epitome of excellent service, exuding the sophistication and attention to detail that one would only expect aboard a super yacht. She was prompt with her greetings and check-ins and provided three excellent menu item recommendations with emphasis on quality and ingredients used. Even though it appeared that she was the only one working the upstairs bar, she made a point to stop and have engaging conversations with fellow bar patrons for a more personal touch.
Food & Value
We started by ordering a Coke, XX lager and queso. Everything came out in a timely manner. Queso was more room temperature. Word of advice, ask for the queso scorching hot, that way you can enjoy it longer as it cools. Otherwise, it’s cold within three minutes of getting it. Chips were thin cantina style which I absolutely love.
For the main, we ordered the Farmer’s Quesadilla which was one of the bartender’s recommendations. Three large triangles filled with chicken, steak, shrimp and veggies arrived on a plate with a green avocado jizzle and nothing else. The quesadilla itself was hot, fresh and incredibly juicy. Each bite brought about flavors from all ingredients described, however, very little spice or flavor presented itself. We ended up asking for hot sauce which we received two variations of, rojo and verde. Both were tasty and provided the extra spice the dish was lacking.
Overall Experience
There’s plenty of good things to say about our first-time visit to Cinco Mexican Cantina. The rooftop sunset was perfect, the service was stellar, and the food hit the spot. Whether you are looking to host a marketing event in one of their spacious dining areas, bring the whole family for dinner or simply enjoy a chilled glass of wine on the roof top deck while listening to live music playing classic covers, you won’t be disappointed by choosing Cinco. This will definitely be a repeat stop when visiting Vickery Village in the future.
